HM Wirabhumi & Kanjeng Pangeran Adipati (Grand Prince) William Marie Chong Adinagoro in Meizhou, China

From 6th to 8th December, The Istana Mataram, Indonesia HM Wirabhumi, Kanjeng Pangeran Adipati (Grand Prince) William Marie Adinagoro Chong, and 4 Princess led the Royal delegation arrived in Meizhou, accompanied by overseas Chinese Federation general chairman Ms. Zhong Jiayan, a group of 24 people initiated a 3-day trip for visiting and communication. Municipal Committee, United Front Work Department Minister, Meixian district Secretary, Zhang Wenguang met with the delegation, the Federation Chairman Cai Xuechang, vice chairman Tang Zhiping and the relevant leaders of Meixian district accompanied the visit and meeting.

Zhang Wenguang on behalf of the municipal government gave a warm welcome to the delegation. He said that Meizhou is the “hometown of culture”, “hometown of overseas Chinese” and “hometown of football”. Meixian Songkou is the starting point of The Belt and Road”. Indonesia had a lot of Meixian compatriots. He felt pleased for the delegation’s arrival. He said that Meizhou is one of the popular spot for investment. It had broad market prospects and is rich in tourism resources. In Meizhou, Meixian Foreign Language School opened the Indonesian language courses. He hoped the two sides could exchange the teachers and students for communication and make substantial progress in education, commerce and tourism etc.

During the meeting, Kanjeng Pangeran Adipati (Grand Prince) William Marie Adinagoro Chong said that the main purpose of their trip is to understand the economic and tourism development in Meizhou, seeking exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. After arriving in Meizhou, the delegation visited Meixian foreign language school and Fairview international Furnishing City.

His first impression of Meizhou is very good and he really appreciated the cultural atmosphere and the investment environment of Meizhou. He said it was a great honor to come to Meizhou which was known as the “hometown of culture”. He hoped this visit could strengthen exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia. Mataram also had a rich culture, land resources, and convenient route. He hoped the two sides could strengthen exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism, commerce, health and other aspects in the future.

During the period in Meizhou, the delegation also visited the Meixian Yannanfei tea field, Dapu Guanyin Mountain, Xingning Xihe Bay to understand the Meizhou culture, tourism and business resources etc.
